For more than 30 years MOKAN CCAC has been at the forefront of efforts to provide opportunities for MBE and WBE contractors on construction projects in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Since its incorporation in 1974, its mission was and remains today to serve as an advocate and facilitator for the inclusion of minority and women-owned businesses on construction projects. MOKAN also assists in strengthening the business development of contractors through the MOKAN institute.
MOKAN serves as a vital link between minority, female-owned, small contractors and the general construction population. There is also a strong commitment to promote and maintain a mutually beneficial and profitable relationship between contractors, developers and government.
MOKAN is focused on building partnerships that create win-win scenarios for everyone in the construction trades industry. While we are strong advocates for our members we also work diligently with majority contractors to develop strategies to increase minority participation for their firms and meet minority inclusion goals. We provide insight and guidance in developing minority business inclusion programs. We do all of this with one single focus: to expand opportunities for growth for minority and women-owned businesses in the construction trades. |

We started the website SocialStalking and a parenting series from a simple request of parents to have a plain English resource to understand the nature of how we share information online. Once launched, SocialStalking slowly encompassed other areas of Internet safety via commentary and offers a focus on Facebook. As the userbase of Facebook grows, so does the subscription of our youth in the service.
SocialStalking now offers live presentations to school districts on Internet Safety and a class on Facebook for Parents. Please get in contact if you wish to have this session scheduled for your school. |

WMS7 was approached to present a social media usage presentation at the annual fall MoASBO conference in Lake of the Ozarks, MO.
The Missouri Association of School Business Officials is a nonprofit, statewide education association of school administrators and directors whose focus is on the “business” of education. The organization was established in 1952 and is affiliated with the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBOI). Members may be wholly or partially responsible for budgeting, school finance, accounting, purchasing and supply management, payroll, maintenance and operation, data processing, school plant planning and construction, school food service management, transportation, and any other major areas of school business administration. The demands made on the school business official’s time and skills are increasing. At a time when school business operations have reached an unparalleled degree of complexity and the maintenance of efficiency and service has become a major challenge, the business official is being asked to perform his or her job with even greater precision and effectiveness. Keeping current on the many new laws, changes in existing law, and numerous regulations in both the State and Federal Register is a tremendous task. In this environment, the Missouri Association of School Business Officials has an obligation to aid the school business official in the performance of their duties and responsibilities by bringing to their attention new management methods, tools, techniques and procedures that will enable them to perform their management function of planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, evaluating, improving, AND the wise and legal expenditure of the taxpayers’ money with which the business official has been entrusted. |
